Specifications of photo should be as follows:
- Current colour photo of yourself.
- White smooth background - no other people or objects in photo
- Sufficient lighting with no shadows
- Front view - full face filling at least 90% of frame, with a simple smile being allowed.
- Cropped from just above the top of head to right below the chin
- No blurry, grainy, pixelated or fuzzy photos
- File format must be BMP, GIF, PNG, TIFF, JPEG
- Ensure photo is not enhanced with additional filters or highlights or changes in contrast
- Eyes open and visible with no glare on eyeglasses. To avoid glare, tilt glasses downward slightly.
- Prescription eye glasses worn on a daily basis can be worn for the photo. Tinted glasses may only be worn if they are prescribed for medical reasons. A medical certificate may be required.
- Eyes looking straight at the camera.
- No obstructions to the head (e.g. hair, obscuring jewellery, headphones, wireless hands-free devises, sunglasses, hats, etc.). Hats and head coverings are only allowed if they are worn daily for religious purposes. The full face must be visible and the hat or head covering cannot obscure the hairline or cast shadows on the face.

The application allows you to zoom and crop your photo. There are simple steps to guide you through the cropping process. If the uploaded photo is not an accurate representation of yourself, identified at the point of issuance, then the card will have to be reprinted at the student’s expense
